Tour Overview

The Western Ghats is one of the world’s “Hottest biodiversity hotspots” and has over 508 bird species. At least 325 globally threatened species occur in the Western Ghats.

Anyone with a keen interest in bird watching and bird photography should join this tour.

During the tour, the participants will get to learn about the variety of endemic and migratory birds of western ghats in India. A lot of opportunities to make memorable frames, learn and live with feathered friends.

Dandeli, Bangalore.

Tour Schedule
Day 1: December 06

Reach the jungle lodges by 11 am and meet the tour leader there. Lunch will be served at the resort upon arrival and followed by a tour briefing session.

Post lunch, the first bird-watching/ photography session begins inside the resort campus. A variety of endemic and migratory birds visit the campus birding hide, spend time with your guide and tour leader to learn about the birds, and photograph the same.

At dusk, relax with a cup of tea/ coffee along with hot snacks.

Late evening, before the dinner, the group meets to discuss photography and birds in general.

Dinner and rest for the day.

Day 2: December 07

Wake up to the calls of birds around the camp area and refresh yourself with a cup of tea/ coffee. Get ready quickly for a thrilling first full day (dawn to dusk) bird watching/ photography experience at the camp hide and the surrounding areas (depending on the bird activity we will select the location) for specific birds.

Enjoy breakfast, lunch, and tea/ coffee at appropriate breaks during the course of the day.

Evening at your leisure, we discuss the day’s memories and review the images made during the day.

Dinner and rest for the day.

Day 3: December 08

Enjoy another dawn waking up to the songs of beautiful birds. Followed by the morning bird watching/ photography session either at camp or in surrounding areas (depending on the bird activity we will select the location).

Post breakfast, we briefly meet to discuss any questions that the participants may have about the birds. And we pack, check out and head back by 11:00 am.

 

 

Throughout the course of the tour, Birds of Indian Subcontinent books are available with the tour leader for the participants to refer to and learn about birds.

Before 7 days of the workshop date – 50% of the payment will be refunded.
Within 7 days of the workshop date – 20% of the payment will be refunded.

Tour Companion

Poorna Kedar, a nature lover, and a professional wildlife photographer. He spent about a decade in various genres of photography, the majority of those years in nature & wildlife alone. His favorite subject is birds, he loves shooting anything from mammals, macro, and landscape.
